Vision, Values, and Proven Leadership

When I came to Claremont in the late 90's, I realized that there was something special about this town full of trees and Ph.D.s. I first started to get involved in the Claremont community as a businessperson in the Claremont Chamber of Commerce then volunteered for many years for the Claremont Fourth of July Committee in a leadership role. In the nearly two decades since, I have extended my involvement with countless other community organizations, city committees and city commissions including:

  • Chair, Claremont Police Commission
  • Chair-Elect, Claremont Chamber of Commerce
  • Liaison, Claremont Committee on Human Relations
  • Member, Sustainable Claremont Finance Committee
  • Founder & Chair, Claremont Crime Prevention Coalition (CCPC)
  • Co-Chair, Yes on SC: Partners for a Safe Claremont
  • Member, Claremont After-School Program Dev. Committee (CLASP)
  • Board President, Inland Valley Repertory Theatre (IVRT)
  • (Click here for more about Ed Reece and his leadership experience)

This experience has helped me understand what is so special about Claremont. It’s the conscientious people of Claremont and their common values. We all love our small town feel, we all contribute to our high quality of life, and we all want a common sense approach to creating practical solutions to any issues we may face. The overwhelming majority of Claremonters work together every day to continually make improvements to our greater community whether at City Hall, within our educational institutions, or through our many community groups. The passion and commitment of Claremonters are remarkable.

I believe that there is a need for a renewed vision for Claremont's future. As an experienced entrepreneur and chief executive, it has been my primary role to create and execute a vision for my company. I have forged over 23 years of success in carrying out and developing that vision into tangible results. Now I am ready to apply all my experience and commitment to pursuing and executing a clear vision for Claremont as a candidate for Claremont City Council.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about my deep appreciation and love for the City of Claremont. I ask for your vote and support to help me use my experience to build a vision for our community and to continue to uphold the values of Claremont. Join your neighbors in voting for Ed Reece for Claremont City Council.

Statement Regarding Email Threat from Claremont Courier Editor

In 2013, I was the victim of domestic violence. A lethal weapon was involved. The abuser was sentenced to three years probation, community service and required to take anger management classes. The abuser and I are no longer together.

She honored that request. I did not understand at the time that these types of incidents are often not reported by the Courier...
