Statement Regarding Email Threat from Claremont Courier Editor

In 2013, I was the victim of domestic violence. A lethal weapon was involved. The abuser was sentenced to three years probation, community service and required to take anger management classes. The abuser and I are no longer together.

At the time of the incident, I contacted Kathryn Dunn, Editor of the Claremont Courier, and requested that the incident not be reported in the Courier’s Police Blotter to protect my privacy as a victim. She honored that request. I did not understand at the time that these types of incidents are often not reported by the Courier...

The backers of Measure SC had one unifying message: get out the vote.
